Rev. James Wayne Armstrong, age 42, of Sash, Texas passed away Saturday, August 28, 2005. He was born on Jan. 3, 1963 in Paris, Texas, a son of Wayne Everett and Peggy Joyce Ballard. He pastored Amazing Grace Pentecostal Church of God in Denison for 8 1/2 years, was an evangelist for many years holding revivals in Texas, Arkansas, Ohio and Oklahoma, and has been pastor of the Sash Assembly of God Church since February of this year. He married Diana Wilkinson on Dec. 25, 1985 in Denison. She survives. Other survivors include: mother and stepfather, Peggy Joyce and Larry Dickson of Brookston; sister Lisa Strickland and husband, William of Denison; half brother, Chris Armstrong of Jamesville, Wis; two step-brothers, Jason Dickson and Jeff Dickson of Paris; three nieces, Tracy Freelen, Brooke Strickland, Karisha Stewart; nephew, Ryan Freelen; sister-in-law, Linda Stewart and husband, Darrell of Denison; several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a son, Ethan Aaron Armstrong. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the First Assembly of God in Paris, Texas with Rev. David Holt, Rev. Roy Carrico and Rev. R. C. Helms officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in the Fairview Cemetery in Denison. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fay-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris, Texas.
