Bobbie R. Fitzpatrick 5 May 1934 - 13 March 2010 Herald Democrat March 17, 2010 DENISON - Bobbie Ruth Fitzpatrick, 75, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Dallas LTAC Hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Parkside Baptist Church in Denison with Rev. Michael Braxton officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Fitzpatrick is survived by her daughters, Tana Ross of Denison, Diane Fitzpatrick of San Jacinto, Calif., Denise Freeman of Chesapeake, Va. and Demeta Fitzpatrick of Denison; son, Michael Fitzpatrick of Denison; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren; sisters, Margaret Easterling of Denver, Colo. and Dorothy Wilson of Denison. Bobbie Ruth Fitzpatrick, of Denison passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Dallas LTAC Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 75. Bobbie Ruth Fitzpatrick was born on May 9, 1934 in Denison, the daughter of Samuel "Ed" and Thelma Potts of Denison. She married Staff Sergeant John Fitzpatrick on Jan. 27, 1953 in Durant, Okla. They moved to Oklahoma City, Charleston, S.C., Philippines and back home to Texas. She graduated from Terrell High School and Grayson County College in Nursing. She was employed by Texoma Medical Center, Medical Plaza and numerous area nursing home facilities. She retired from Texoma Medical Center. Bobbie was known to her friends and family as "Patty" to her grandchildren as "GiGi". Her love for her family was deep and rewarding. She was small in stature, but had the heart of a Giant. She deeply loved the Lord and was an active member of Bethel Community Church. Bobbie was a daughter first, wife second, mother third, grandmother fourth and then a nurse. She graduated from Grayson County College Nursing School. Nursing was a gift for nursing was extraordinary. She was a servant for God. She touched the hearts of many, was a mother to many, and a friend to many. She fed the hungry, clothed many, helped her fellow man who was in need and never met a stranger. She was always giving of herself to her family, friends and strangers. Her love for her children, grandchildren, son-in-law and daughter-in-law cannot be measured. Her relationship with her two sisters was a bond that will be never be broken. Her favorite words to you were "by the grace of God". Her free spirit and love for travel helped her to meet many people. Her favorite place to visit was Las Vegas. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, John Fitzpatrick, her parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and brother, Billie Gene Potts. She is survived by daughters, Tana Ross of Denison, Diane Fitzpatrick of San Jacinto, Calif., Denise Freeman and husband Warren of Chesapeake, Va. and Demeta Fitzpatrick of Denison; son, Michael Fitzpatrick and wife Callena of Denison; grandchildren, Mallonda Okonkwo (Tab) of San Jacinto, Calif., John Pickett (Dalia) of Orange County, Calif., Warren Freeman III of Osan, Korea, Janet Freeman, Sadie Freeman, Jessica Freeman, Laykin Freeman, all of Chesapeake, Va., Joe Ross and wife, Laura, Tanya Ross, Jolan Ross and wife, Brandie, Tanise Fugett, Cassius Fitzpatrick all of Denison, and Nadia Fitzpatrick of Fort Worth. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Olivia Ross, Mikayla Ross, Jordan Ross, Nikko Christenson, Caleb Ross, Kylan Ross, Kamry Ross, Shanise Fugett, Sterling Fugett all of Denison, Brandon Okonkwo, Selah Okonkwo, Jayden Okonkwo, all of San Jacinto, Calif.; great-greatgrandchildren, Ali Brooks of San Jacinto, Calif. and Keona Nugent of Denison; sisters, Margaret Easterling of Denver, Colo. and Dorothy Wilson of Denison; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Parkside Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Braxton officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 6 -8 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at Fisher Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Joe Ross, Jolan Ross, John Pickett, Warren Freeman III, Rodney Easterling, Reginald Wilson, Ronald Wilson and Wilbert Withrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Kylan Ross, Sterling Fugett, Cassius Fitzpatrick, Brandon Okonkwo, Nikko Christenson and Caleb Ross. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who showed us love and compassion during this time in our lives. Your visits, calls, food and love were very special to our hearts. Thank you to the ICU staff at TMC and the doctors who cared for Bobbie. Thank you to Dallas LTAC Hospital staff and doctors who cared for Bobbie with so much love and compassion.
