January 30, 1959 Funeral services for Roscoe A. Cross, 77, were held at Bratcher Funeral Chapel, Friday, Jan. 23. The Rev. R. L. Scofield officiated and burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Cross died at Denison Manor Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 11:40 a.m. after four months of illness. He had been a resident of Denison for 59 years. He was born in Monroe, Ky., Feb. 5, 1881, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Cross. He attended school in Kentucky and was married in Denison May, 7, 1905 to Miss Myrtle Brooks. Mrs. Cross died in 1932. Mr. Cross owned and operated several grocery stores in Denison until his retirement several years ago. He is survived by three sons, Alan Cross, Denison, Charles Cross, Washington, D.C., and Alton Cross, Paramount, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. R. C. Deeds and Mrs. C. A. Phillips, Denison and Mrs. B. R. Bailey, Washington, D. C.; two sisters, Mrs. T. E. Hubbard, Denison and Mrs. Lillian Deeds, Midlothian, Texas; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
