Monday, May 27, 1895 PIONEER DEAD Denison, Tex, May 26. - Col. J. E. Streeper, one of Denison's pioneers, died here this morning at the age of 63 years. He had been in and about Denison for the last seventeen years, but had spent considerable time in the North. In former years Colonel Streeper was a steamboat captain on the Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio rivers. He leaves a fortune of about $70,000 and no children. His wife died last March. The Southern Mercury Thursday, May 30, 1895 J. E. Streeper of Denton, aged 68, died a few days ago, leaving an estate vaixed at $75,000 and no sorrowing widow or children.
