Friday, June 7, 1940 pg 1 Funeral service for Mrs. Alice M. Ramsey, 65, resident of Denison thirty-seven years, who died Thursday at 12:50 p.m. at her home, 604 E. Main, following an illness of nine weeks were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from Short-Murray chapel. Rev. Hargrove Grounds officiated. Interment was at Fairview cemetery, Short-Murray directing. Pallbearers were C. J. Ussery, Carl Heath, Charley Pipkin, J. V. Conatser, F. P. Ramsey and Henry Steele. Mrs. Ramsey was born in Pennsylvanians county Virginia, as Alice Madora Ferguson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ferguson, Oct. 28, 1873. She was reared and educated there and married Albert A. Ramsey December 3, 1891 at Elba, Va. The couple resided at Elba until coming to Denison in 1901. Mr. Ramsey died here July 29, 1925. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are a son, Frank, of Denison; seven daughters, Mrs. F. E. Kent and Mrs. Perry George, both of Denison; Mrs. Howard B. Franklin of McKinney, Miss Rita Ramsey, Okmulgee, Okla.; Mrs. Lena Nelson of Los Angeles, Mrs. Clyde Houk of Dallas and Mrs. Knox Mimms of Houston; two brothers, Dr. A. Ferguson of Louisville and V. B. Ferguson of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. E. A. Pitts of Wichita Falls and Mrs. P. H. Kea of Hyattsville, Md, and eight grandchildren.
