Fred L. Calvert, 44 years old, Denison plumber residing at 505 East Munson street, who had been employed at San Antonio and Houston during the last few weeks, died at a San Antonio hospital Monday evening at 9:30 o'clock from intestinal poisoning. He was suddenly taken ill while at work last Tuesday and rushed to the hospital. Mr. Calvert, who had been employed by W. F. Weaver, Chris Waltz and other plumbing establishments during his ten years of residence in Denison, left Jan. 5 for Houston and San Antonio where he had been offered employment. He was born at Mayesville, Ky., March 58, 1885, and was married to Miss Sally Caddell at Austin, May 4, 1908. Mr. Calvert operated a plumbing establishment at Austin from where he moved to Denison in 1920. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Plumbers' Union. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sally Calvert; three daughters, Misses Mildred, Georgia and Nell Calbert; two sons, Jack and Freddie Calvert, all of Denison; his father, T. M. Calvert, Houston; two brothers, Neal and William Calvert, Houston, and one sister, Mrs. J. Simpson, Humble. The body will be returned to Denison by rail, arriving Wednesday morning at 1:45 o'clock. Funeral arrangements had not been announced Tuesday at noon.
