WEALTHY DENISON LEADER SUCCUMBS
Denison - Franz Harrison Kohfledt, regarded in financial circles to be Grayson County's wealthiest resident, died Monday
at his home.  His net worth was estimated
to be between $5 and $10 million.
Services for the 89-year-old real estate broker and investor was held Wednesday afternoon in St. Luke's Episcopal Church here, conducted by Rev. A. Harrison Lee of Dallas.  Burial was at Fairview Cemetery directed by Johnson-Moore
Funeral Home.
Born in Denison he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Franz Kohfeldt.  He was a 1910 graduate of Texas A&M, a vestryman at St. Luke's for more than 20 years and a charter member of the Grayson County Board of Realtors and the Red River Association.
Mr. Kohfeldt and his father founded the Building and Loan Association in 1924, which is now the Denison Federal Savings and Loan, where he was president and director.  He was a director of State National Bank here, a charter member of the Denison Rod and Gun Club and a 50-year member of the Billie Mosse Lodge No. 1152, Grand Council of Royal Select Masters of Texas and Hella Shrine Temple in Dallas.
Survivors include his wife, the former Irma R. Riddell, whome he married on November 18, 1920 in Ft. Worth; daughters, Mrs. John H. Anderson and Mrs. Jack G. Berry, both of Denison; brother, George Kohfeldt of Dallas; 5 grandchildren
and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ralph Porter, Keith Hubbard, Kermit Wright, Ross Stoddard, Worth Campbell and Gene Ramey.
The family requests that memorials be made to the St. Luke's Episcopal Church endowment fund.

Denison - Funeral for Mrs. Franz H. Kohfeldt, 91, who died Wednesday in Texoma Medical Center, were held Friday morning in St. Luke's Episcopal Church.  Rev. Francis Raffalovich officiated.  Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, under the
direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kohfeldt, the former Irma Marie Riddle, was born June 10, 1895, in Ranger, daughter of Albert S. and Lula Sarah Rawls Riddle.  She married Franz H. Kohfeldt in November 18, 1920 in Ft. Worth and had lived in Denison since that time.  She
and her husband managed F. Kohfeldt & Sons Real Estate for many years.  It is one of the oldest businesses in Denison, established in 1887 by Kohfeldt's father.  It is now being run by her son-in-law, John H. Anderson and her granddaughter, Kristine Paddock.
She was past president of the Alpha Delphi Club, Denison Art Club, Central Ward PTS, Daughters of the American Revolution, a charter member of Monodrama Club and a Woodmen of the World member for more than 50 years.  She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and for many years served as director of St. Monica's Altar Guild.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John H. Anderson and Mrs. Jack G. Berry of Denison; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Wilcox, Ralph Porter, Ross Stoddard, William Kelley, Gene Ramey and Roy Dossey.
