Funeral
services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock for J. Lee Greer,
former owner and publisher of the Denison Herald, who died at Scott
White hospital in Temple, Friday evening after a lingering illness. The
Rev. Edward Bayless, pastor of the First Presbyterian church officiated
at the services, which were hel dat the Bratcher-Moore chapel and
interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Greer was born in Dallas, July 29, 1880, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Greer. He was educated in Dallas, and was married in 1908 to Miss Fay Lindsay of Denison. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Survivors include his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Louise Myer of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother Jim Greer; three sisters, Mrs. Ora Greer, Mrs. B. F. Rivers, and Mrs. Maryetta Kynerd, all of Dallas. The Greer home is at 1206 W. Gandy [in Denison TX].
