Friday, June 7, 1918 pg. 7 DENISON BOY LOSES LIFE ON THE PRESIDENT LINCOLN Denison, Texas, June 4 - Fred William Wilson is the first Denison boy to lose his life in the war. A telegram was received yesterday afternoon by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilson, informing them that their son was drowned when the President Lincoln was torpedoed and sunk several days ago. He left Denison in December for New Orleans, where he was engaged in the paymaster's office. He was later assigned to a ship in the paymaster's department.
