DEATH ROLL
Mrs. R.W. Mays, living at 700 W. Texas Street, died Wednesday afternoon at 5 at the family home.
She had lived in Denison 60 years. Funeral services were
conducted Friday afternoon at 4 from Short-Murray chapel with Rev. J.C.
Oglesby officiating, with interment at Fairview where the C.I.A.
to the B. of L.E. had charge.
Born December 28, 1863 in Pulaski, Tennessee, she was the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John Sherrill. She was married December 16, 1884 at
Roanoke, Texas. She was a member ofthe Methodist Church and of
the Ladies Auxiliary to the B. of L.E.
Surviving are one son, Robert S., Denison; two daughters, Mrs. W.L.
Egger, San Antonio and Mrs. G.W. Hendrick, Loraine, Texas. A brother,
G.L. Sherrill, Denison and one sister, Miss Mattie Sherrill also
survive,
with several grandchildren, including Robert E. Mayes [sic], lieutenant in the U.S.N.R., Corpus Christi.
