November 23, 1902 Funeral services for Katy Conductor W. W. Marshal were held at the residence at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. P.C. Archer of the Waples Memorial church, with interment in Fairview cemetery, under the auspice of Lone Star lodge No. 403, A.F. & A.M., Lone Star Division No. 53, O.R.C., Turner Division No. 28, Auxiliary of the O.R.C. and Gate City Hive, No. 17, L.O.T.M. Mr. Marshal was killed on the 20th at Pilot Point. Marshall stepped and fell from the tender of a moving engine and was instantly killed. The deceased was married about sever or eight years ago to Miss Vallie Ennis of this city. Mr. Marshall was born at St. Paul, Minn., October 10th, 1872. He began his railroad career at an early age and about nine years ago came to Denison and entered the service of the Katy as brakeman, but was soon promoted to conductor. Marshall was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, October 10, 1872. He began his railroad career at an early age and about 9 years ago came to Denison and secured a position as brakeman on the M. K. & T. He was soon promoted to the position of conductor. He was a very prominent mason. The remains were brought here for interment.
