Arlington, Texas 1903: Thursday March 5, 1903 Katy Fireman Killed. Denison: C. W. Weaver, a Katy fireman was on an engine backing by an outgoing train when the tank of the engine struck the side of the outgoing train four cars from the rear end. Weaver was caught between the engine and the train and badly injured. Both of his legs and right arm were broken and mangled. He died two hours after the accident. Weaver was a single man and had been a fireman in the Katy yards here for the past fifteen years. He was thirty-seven years old. He leaves three sisters and three brothers to mourn his loss.
