Hartford Magee 1848 - 1899 The Sunday Gazetteer
Sunday, December 31, 1899 pg. 4 Hartford Magee, known to nearly every citizen of Denison as "Hank" Magee, died of heart failure Sunday morning, at his residence, 314 East Hull street, this city. For many years Hank Magee had been an engineer on the M.K. & T., and no railroad employe ever left a better record than he. He had friends by the score, attracted by his even, generous temperament and manly sturdiness, every one of whom regrets his death with the keenness born of genuine regard for the man. An intimate acquaintance speaks of him as a railroad man of the old school, which phrase in modern-days is a volume in eulogy, not only when spoken of railroad men but of all other classes. Mr. Magee leaves a wife and 4 children besides his host of friends to mourn his loss. The funeral, which took place Monday forenoon, was one of the largest ever seen upon the streets of Denison. The interment was at the Fairview cemetery.
