Forest C. Potts 1880 - 1950 Leona H. Potts 1883 - 1954 Funeral
services were held Sunday, April 16, at the First Christian church for
Forest C. Potts, 69, who died in the Katy hospital last Friday night.
He had lived in Denison for 47 years, and had been in ill health for
two years. He was hospitalized two weeks. Rev. Richard Crows officiated
at the service and burial was in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Potts was born in Trinity, Alabama, July 17, 1880, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Potts. He attended schools in Birmingham, Alabama, and was married in Denison Dec. 16, 1903 to Miss Leona Hinkle. He was a member of the First Christian church, the O. R. C. and the B. of R. T. He had worked for the Katy railroad for 49 years, retiring in 1948 on account of ill health. He is survived by his widow. The family home is at 605 West Owing. Tuesday Funeral Set Here For Mrs. Potts Mrs. Leona Potts of 605 West Owings died Sunday at 10:45 p.m. in a local hospital after a two-day illness. She operated a ready-to-wear shop at 405 West Main for years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in First Christian Church with Rev. Earl Zetsche, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with Bratcher-Moore in charge. Mrs. Potts was born at Dripping Springs, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Hinkle. She was married Dec. 16, 1903, in Denison to F. C. Potts. Mrs. Potts was a member of First Christian church. Survivors include a brother, Quincy Hinkle, Denison, and several nephews and nieces.
