Friday, May 29, 1959 pg. 4 Funeral services for William A. Nortrip, 82, were held at Bratcher Chapel Saturday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m. Mrs. Hal Watkins, Christian Science reader, conducted the service. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery. Nortrip, retired Katy switchman, died in the MKT Railroad Employe's Hospital Thursday, May 21, after several months of illness. He had been in the hospital five months. Nortrip was born in Waterloo, Iowa, February 24, 1877, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Nortrip. He was married first to Bertha Jane Norris and after her death he married Mrs. Lena Kelley in Denison in 1932. He started to work for the Katy in 1896 and retired 1945. He was a member of Billie Moose Lodge 1152, Denison Chapter No. 138, R.A.M., Denison Council No. 82 R.S. Master, and was a member of the BofRT No. 822. The Nortrip home is at 529 E. Woodard. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. W.A. Nortrip; one son, W.D. Nortrip, Dallas; and one step-son, Frank Summerour, Ft. Worth; a step-daughter, Mrs. Sue Cerveny, Chicago, Illinois; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Roney, Decatur, Illinois.
