DENISON – Herbert Wayne Elliott, 77, passed away May 23, 2011 on his land that he loved so much. Visitation for Wayne will be from 6:30 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 27, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Freeman officiating. Pallbearers will be Joseph Elliott, Johnny Howell III, John Howell, Chris Elliott, James Elliott II and Greg Vaughn. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1501 Hwy. 91 North, Denison, TX 75020. Wayne was born in Bailey, Texas on May 28, 1933, the son of Herbert Mitchell Elliott & Ollie Emma Davis. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Leyte; worked many years in the insurance business and later as a land developer in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.; served Meals on Wheels in Tulsa, OK for years; was a longtime member of the Lions Club in Tulsa, OK; had many, many friends and could be called on by any; was known by his outgoing spirit and had a genuine interest in all he met; truly looked for a favor to do for others. His interest included weightlifting, swimming and jogging. We all loved him dearly and will love being with him again. He is survived by daughter Lisa Elliott and granddaughter Brooke Elliott of Durant, OK; sisters Imanelle Howell of Denison, Billie Bell of Denton, TX; brothers James C. Elliott of Mustang, OK and Joe Elliott of Denison. He was preceded in death by his father Herbert M. Elliott and mother Ollie Davis Elliott.
