Denison - Mrs. Sidney Armstrong, 74, wife of Engineer Sidney Armstrong of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday at the family home, 809 West Chestnut, where she had resided for 39 years. She had been ill six months.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Short and Murray chapel, the Rev. Ben F. Hearn officiating, followed by interment at Fairview cemetery.
Surviving relatives include besides the husband, a son by a former marriage, Ted Robinson of Dallas, a daughter, Mrs.
B. B. Simms of Denison; two sisters, Mrs. W. J. Stanford of Denison and Mrs. Fannie Purdy of Albuquerque, N.M., and two grandchildren, Martha Jane and Virginia Simms of Denison.
Born in Wellsville, Mo., Jan. 31, 1864, as Margaret Waters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Waters, she was reared and educated in Grayson County. She was married first in Sherman to Mr. Robinson and later to Mr. Armstrong of Sherman Sept. 21, 1896. The couple lived a number of years in Fort Worth, where Mr. Armstrong became connected with the
railroad. They came to Denison in 1899.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the First Christian church and the auxiliary to the engineers.
