- Funeral for Hilliary Walter Womack, 73, of 26 W. Parnell, who died
Monday at a local hospital, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bratcher
Chapel, with Dr. Tom Peel officiating. Burial will be in Fairview
Cemetery.
Womack was born Sept. 10, 1912, in Austin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Walter Womack. He married Selma Leona Huff March 2, 1938, in Austin. Womack was a member of Waples Memorial United Methodist Church. He was educated in Austin and attended the University of Texas. Womack worked for the State of Texas, Austin Fire Department, and in 1942 became a railway postal clerk until his retirement. He moved to Denison in 1945 and became very active in youth activities - working with Waples Church youth programs, Little League baseball, and as scoutmaster at Grace Lutheran Church. Womack was the first leader of the Order of the Arrow group. He was a member of Elks Lodge 238 and was a former member of Texoma Squares. Surviving are his wife; son, Richard Womack of Rowlett; daughter, Martha Jean Haun of Houston; brother, Cecil Edgar of Burnett; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be C. W. Schnitker, Fred Hoppe, Dick Williams, Vince Silva, Doc Denison, Andy Tignor, Horace Groff, Vernon Maple and George Bassett. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 tonight.
