Friday, March 15, 1946 pg 6 Following an illness which lasted for a period of three years, Walter E. Pannell, a retired Katy engineer, died at the Katy hospital Monday, followed by funeral rites Tuesday morning at the Bratcher-Moore Funeral home, Rev. Guy Perdue officiating. Interment was at Fairview cemetery. Born in Newman, Ga., Mr. Pannell came to Denison in 1906 as a laborer for the Katy, later advancing to fireman and ultimately to engineer on the Bluebonnet and Texas Special. He was married to the former Mrs. Mae Wade on March 11, 1918, in Sherman, who survives him. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Warren of Borger and Mrs. Noel U. Taylor of Denison; one brother, Will Pannell of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Wilson of Dallas and Mrs. Minnie Oxford of Allen; and one grandson, Larry Ware Warren of Borger.
