Wayne Hugh Bacon, 75, of Cartwright, Okla., passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Whitesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation, Whitesboro.

Wayne was born on March 25, 1936 to William Hugh and Dorothy O. Trimble Bacon in Colbert, Oklahoma. He married Madeline Crump on May 14, 1965 in Dallas. He was a surveyor and inspector for the City of Dallas for 30 years and retired from the City of Dallas. He was a member of the Hwy 91 Church of Christ in Colbert, Okla.

He is survived by his wife, Madeline; children, Shirley Berg and husband David of Olathe, Kan., Sheila Turner and husband Randy of Duncan, Okla., Mike Melton and wife Rhonda of Point, Stefhane Helm and husband Jason of McKinney, and Shelley Lea of Ridgecrest, Calif.; special cousin, Nora Fay Horton, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Bacon and two sisters, Wanda and Juanda.

Family visitation will be Tuesday, October, 25, 2011 from 6 – 8 p.m., at American Funeral Service, Colbert, Okla.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at 11 a.m., at Hwy 91 Church of Christ, Colbert, Oklahoma. Jim Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Denison.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hwy 91 Church of Christ building fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of American Funeral Service, Colbert, Okla.
