Friday, July 13, 1956 pg. 5 Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock for Mrs. Lenora E. Arthur, 81, who died at Madonna hospital Thursday, July 5, after several months of illness. She had been in the hospital 10 days. Rev. George Ray Hodges of Wichita Falls officiated at the service and burial was in Fairview cemetery with Bratcher-Moore Funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were Clifford Esler, E.H. Beamer, Earle Whiteacre, S.V. Earnest, A.P. Linn and Russell Hanna. Mrs. Arthur was the widow of R.T. Arthur, Katy conductor, who died several years ago. She was born in Lebanon, Illinois, February 13, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.I. Tipton. She received her education in Illinois and Kansas and was married in Denison July 22, 1891 to Mr. Arthur. She resided in Ft. Scott, Kansas before coming to Denison 65 years ago. Mrs. Arthur had been a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years and had served as past matron. She was a member of the Garden Club, a past member of the O.R.C. Auxiliary and had been in charge of communion and decorations in the Presbyterian church for 35 years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. Roy Miller of Denison.
