Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in Bratcher-Moore chapel
for R. D. Anderson, 66, who died in Ennis Friday, March 9. Rev. Ernest
L. Potter, pastor of Calvary Baptist church, officiated and interment
was in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was a native of Denison, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
R. L. Anderson. He had made his home in Ennis for the past four years
with a daughter, Mrs. R. C. Tuley. He was in the trucking business, and
had worked for the Katy railroad before ill health forced his
retirement ten years ago.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Hester Dorries Anderson, Ennis; a
daughter, Mrs. Tuley of Ennis; two sons, J. R. Anderson of Denison and
Robert Anderson, of Ennis; three brothers, Ray Anderson, Joe Anderson
and Tom Anderson, and two sisters, Mrs. Jerry Hickey and Mrs. Daisey
McMillan, all of Denison, and three grandchildren.

Funeral
services were held Friday afternoon at Bratcher-Moore chapel for Jerry
Hickey, 77, who died at his home, 1017 W. Bullock, Wednesday, March 17,
after a year of illness. Rev. W. O. Bucy, pastor of Trinity Methodist
church and Rev. Ed Bayless of First Presbyterian church, officiated and
interment was in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank McCune,
Buddy Wolfe, Charlie Holden, Clarence Scott, Claud Woodley, Fred
Bennett, Neil Powers and Charlie Hale.
Mr. Hickey was born in Athens, Illinois, April 5, 1876, and came to
Denison in 1906. He married Miss Nettie Anderson of Denison in 1917. He
was employed at the W. H. Halton Funeral Home until 1919 when he became
superintendent of Fairview cemetery. He was on of the oldest licensed
embalmers in the state. Mr. Hickey remained in charge of Fairview
cemetery until 1940 when he became associated with Bratcher-Moore
Funeral Home. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include his widow, one son, Jim Hickey, Plano and a daughter, Mrs. J. P. Brodie, Dallas.
