Joe Dell Henry, Sr., age 79, passed away at Texoma Medical Center June 10th from melanoma cancer.
Bratcher Funeral Home is in charge of services to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Park Avenue Church
of Christ in Denison. Todd Catteau will officiate.
Family time will be at Bratcher's from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Batts, Corky Armstrong, Roy Galyon, Bill Heironimus, Terry Beal and Jim Pritchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Sisemore, Archie Shearer, Dan Varnell and Benton Helm.
Mr. Henry was born in Leonard, Texas on September 13, 1935 to Olen and Bernice Phillips Henry (both deceased). He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bettye Dickerson Henry; daughter Joye DeLayne (DeDe) Lawson and husband Michael; son Joe Dell Henry Jr. and wife Kay; siblings James Olen Henry and wife Irene, Jerry Wayne Henry and wife Donna, Bettye Lucille Plehn and Barbara Anne Newsome; six grandchildren: Audrie, Lindsie and Abbie Lawson, Kyrsti Malone, Kenneth and Lexie Lewis; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Henry graduated from Bells High School. He was a union plumber for 42 years, a member of Plumbers/Pipefitters Local 100 in Dallas, retiring in 1998. He was also a member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees. He was a member of Park Avenue Church of Christ for 54 years.
