Friday, April 10, 1953 pg. 3 Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian chruch Thursday for Maurice C. Scheid, native Denisonian, who died at Madonna hospital Tuesday night after 7 weeks of illness. Rev. Ed Bayless and Rev. Bob Ramsay officiated at the services and interment was in Fairview cemetery with Bratcher-Moore funeral directors in charge. Maurice Scheid was born in Denison, March 2, 1911, the son of Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Scheid. He received his education in Denison schools, and was married in Denison December 14, 1941 to Miss Lois Swinney. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. At the time of his death he was a representative of the American National Live Insurance company. He was also president of the Rabbit Breeders Association. Formerly he had been employed as a carrier of for the post office and an employee of the Crane Bakery. He worked for years in the Denison DeMolay association when that organization was active here. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Fiji Islands and in India for 4 years. He is survived by his widow; one brother, James L. Scheid; and one sister, Mrs. Elmer Campbell of Denison. At the time of his death he was also survived by his grandmother, Mrs. Jenny Scheid, who passed away just one week from the day of his death.
