Funeral
for Mrs. Effie Strom, 78, were conducted Thursday afternoon from the
Johnson-Moore chapel with Rev. Jim Logan officiating. Johnson-Moore
directed and interment was at Fairview.
Mrs. Strom passed away at her home, 831 W. Nelson street after an illness of one week. She made her home at the address on Nelson for several years. Born as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brown at Pfleugerville, Texas, Aug. 23, 1881, she received her education at Wichita Falls. She was married Dec. 25, 1897, her husband being an employee in the local Katy shops, who died Dec. 17, 1945. Surviving are two sons, Leslie L., Denison, and Charles B., Garland, and one daughter, Mrs. Eva M. Shone, Denison. Also surviving are a brother, J. W. Brown, Wichita Falls, and a sister, Mrs. Lulu Priebie, Wichita Falls; along with four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
