  Charles P. Newton 31 January 1876 - 21 May 1956 Dottie G. Newton 24 October 1886 - 9 December 1978 DENISON - Funeral for Dottie Newton, 92, a longtime resident of Denison who died Saturday in Garland, will be Monday at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Newton, who lived in Denison before moving to Garland four years ago, was born Oct. 25. 1886, at Cave Springs, Ga. the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Potts. She married Charles P. Newton on March 27, 1910 at Atoka, Okla. He died in 1956. She was a member of the Christian Church at Caddo, Okla. Survivors include two sons, Charles Jr., Sherman, and Frank, Groves; six daughters, Roxie Richard and Catherine Overturf, Denison, Nancy Mikkelsen and Jeanne Newton, Garland, Dixie Ordoff, Rayville, La., and Mary Glover, Shreveport, La.; a sister, Angie McElroy, Denison; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home from 4-5 p.m. today and at 1800 South Bluebonnet at other times.
