Friday, June 18, 1945 Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Susan Geis, who died Sunday at her Pottsboro home, were conducted from the Pottsboro Baptist church Tuesday, with Rev. Ray Short officiating. Interment was at Fairview. Mrs. Geis, who had been a resident of Pottsboro for 30 years, was born at Elm Mott Jan. 17, 1886, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Beathler. She was married in Waco in 1903 to John George Geis, who died several years ago. She was a member of the Pottsboro Baptist church. Surviving are four sons; Lester, L. J. G. and Milton Geis, Guymon, Okla, and Wilbur Geis, with the army in Italy; a daughter, Mrs. Viola James, Denison; three brothers, Cleve, John, and Joe Beathler, all of Waco; and five grandchildren.
