Denison Herald November 1984 P2 DENISON - Funeral for Oscar C. Youngblood, 75, of 1133 Oakridge, who died Tuesday afternoon at a local hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Pottsboro Church of Christ, with J.F. "Dandy" Wall, assisted by Bob Sholl, officiating. Military graveside service will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Youngblood was born Aug. 25, 1909, in Baird, son of Melton and Dora May Youngblood. A former Abilene resident, he attended Abilene Christian High School and Abilene Christian College. Youngblood married Opal M. Morris Sept. 14, 1939, in Lovington, N.M. He was a retired electrician, and a member of Pottsboro Church of Christ. Youngblood served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He moved to the Denison area in 1957 to work on the Johns-Manville construction job, and lived in Pottsboro until 1961. While in Pottsboro, he served two terms as mayor. Youngblood was a member of Electricians Local 59. Surviving are his wife of Denison; two brothers, A.B. of Abilene, R.L. "Jack" of El Centro, Calif.; four sisters, Christine Wainscott of Olney, Mrs.J.A.Cornelius of Throckmorton, Ruby Knox of Wichita Falls, and Mrs.D.G.Swilling of Grandbury. Pallbearers will be Noel D. Wall, Dick Baker, Dennis Baker, Jeff Cornelius, Dick Baker Jr., Kenneth Locke, Henry Schleuse, and Wayne ........
