Bailie P. Vinson The Sunday Gazetteer
Sunday, July 10, 1887 pg. 1 Mr. Bailey P. Vinson died of heart disease at the residence of his son, in this city, on Friday, July 8, aged 48 years. He was, during the war, captain of a company of Rangers on the side of the Confederacy, in which capacity he won an almost national reputation. In 1884 he came to Denison as freight agent for the Missouri Pacific railway company, which position he held for about nine months when he removed to a better one in the service of the same company at San Antonio. It was here that the disease of which he died acquired a mastery over him and reduced him to the condition of an invalid without hope of recovery. In this condition he came to Denison about two months ago with his family, where he remained with his son, Bailey, up to the time of his death. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place from St. Luke's church at 10 a.m. to-day. Saturday, Rev. F.N. Atkin conducting the services. The interment took place at Fairview cemetery.
