Sunday, February 16, 1890 pg. 1 DAVE COLBERT DEAD Mr. Dave Colbert, one of the most prominent citizens of the Chickasaw Nation, died at his home near Colbert, I.T. on Friday evening at 8:30 o'clock. Mr. Colbert was taken with La Grippe about three weeks ago and this malady developing into typhoid pneumonia resulted in death as above stated. The deceased, during life, filled many important offices under the Chickasaw government, and at the time of his death was national collector of permits. His death is especially deplored in this community where he had a legion of friends.
