from Thomas Fox Mr.
Fox was born in Ireland, Dec.
27, 1843. Parents were old residents of Ireland, having lived in
Ireland all
their lives. Irish for generations back. Mr. Fox's father was a farmer
and he
remained on the farm until 1865. He then went to London, England, and
was
employed at the Arsenal, remaining here 2 years and 5 months. He was
then on
the London Police force 2 years. In 1870 he came to America and located at Haven, Conn. He was first employed by a farmer 1 year, then was foreman of St. RRy, having charge of all of the stock, remaining in Conn. until 1873, when he came to Texas. First was employed on the R.R. for about 1 year, then clerked a while and afterwards got into his present business. Mr. Fox came to Denison with not more than $500.00 and by his good business qualities today is worth $30,000.00. Married in Denison Nov. 1, 1882, to Miss Kate Sweeney. Has 1 son and 1 daughter.
