COLORED BOY DROWNED
A crowd of small white boys stole their way
down to Red River on the M.K. & T.
passenger train Thursday and went in
swimming. They were accompanied by a
colored boy aged about ten named Jim Hight.
They were all splashing around in the
water and having a good time when some one
noticed that Hight was missing, and a search
failing to discover his whereabouts it was
concluded that he must have been drowned.
The boys came to town as fast as possible
and gave the alarm and the boy's father left
at once for the river with a seine to if
possible recover the body.
