2 February 1896 Sherman Siftings Stormy Dawson, colored, charged with assaulting his sister, Julia Mitchell, with a knife with the intent to kill her, was released. Julia testified that when she laid her complaint before the officer who arrested she was so mad she really didn't know her own mind.
