Voelkle 2 February 1924 - 23 April 2008 Herald Democrat April 25, 2008 MARY EDDYE WIGGINS VOELKLE Graveside services were held for Mary on April 25, 2008 at Ethel Cemetery. Rev. Dan Ford of Robinson Baptist Church in Caddo, Oklahoma, officiated. Mary departed to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville. Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. A lifelong resident of Grayson County, Mary was born in Howe on February 3, 1924, to Linville A. and Stella (Starnes) Wiggins. She married Cecil S. Voelkle on October 9, 1943, in Sherman, Texas. Cecil passed away in 1978 after 35 years of marriage. Mary went to work at Pool Manufacturing Company in 1942 and became a full-time employee in 1945. She retired in 1979 after 34 years of service. Mary was well known for her skill in crochet and embroidery handwork. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Roger, Mutt and Bill Wiggins; and sister Bess Ballew. Survivors include her son, Jim Voelkle and wife Mary Lee (whom she always called daughter) of Sherman; brother Don Wiggins of Irving, as well as five nephews, two nieces, and special granddaughter Shizuka Miyayoshi of Banff, Canada. Also like family are lifelong friends, Carolyn Mitchell, Glyna Crowder, and Ruby Reynolds of Sherman. A lady of Great Faith, Mary enjoyed a good time and loved her family and friends.
