R. M. Tarpley Dies At His Home.

R. M. Tarpley, a well-known Grayson County farmer residing near Ethel for many years, died suddenly at his home at Ethel about 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, following a stroke of paralysis.
Mrs. Alma Douglass of Sherman, deputy in the district clerk's office, a daughter of the deceased, was notified of her father's illness shortly after noon Friday but failed to reach his beside before he expired.
Mr. Tarpley was one of the best known and most highly regarded citizens of Grayson County. He had resided at Ethel for many years and owned a large farm there. He also owned farming interests near Floydada, and divided his time between that place and Grayson County. He and Mrs. Tarpley had recently returned from a trip to Floydada. Mr. Tarpley was one of the leaders of the Ethel community, and was prominent in the Church of Christ there.
He is survived by his wife and five daughters and two sons. These are Mrs. H. H. Minnis and Mrs. Robert Bell, of Ethel; Mrs. Alma Douglass, of Sherman; Mrs. Clarence Patterson of Houston; Mrs. Beulah Hough of Floydada; Edgar Tarpley of Clovis, N.M., and Tom Tarpley of Coleman, Okla.

He is also survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Julia Tarpley. - Sherman Democrat.
