Female Birth : February 1917, Ethel, Grayson Co., Texas Father : George Howard Hurley Mother : Mary Etta Priddy Death : February 1917, Ethel, Grayson Co., Texas Mr. and Mrs. George Hurley came to Ethel in 1916 in a model T Ford, traveling in one day from Ferris, Texas, bringing 6 children - Ed, Bertha, Virgil C. (Jumbo), Maurene, Josephine, and Ethel. In February 1917, there were twins - Howard and a baby sister. The girl died at birth and is buried in the Ethel Cemetery. Dallas Morning News November 22, 1977 Sherman, Texas (Sp.) - Edd R. Hurley, 75 of Sherman, a retired carpenter, died Monday in a Sherman Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in Waldo Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Ethel Cemetery, east of Collinsville, Grayson County. EDD HURLEY SHERMAN - Edd R. Hurley, 75 of Sherman died Monday in a hospital here. Hurley was a retired carpenter and a member of Woods Street Church of Christ here. Surviving are his wife, Mary; three sons, Charles R. Hurley of El Paso, Bill Hurley of Sherman and Jerry Hurley of Alexandria, La.; two brothers, V. C. Hurley of Collinsville and Howard Hurley of Seymour; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Kuntz of Collinsville, Mrs. Josephine Paulkner of Arlington, Mrs. Maurine Scoggins of Collinsville, Mrs. Ethel Zimmerman of La Puente, Calif., and 10 grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Waldo Funeral Chapel in Sherman, with burial in Ethel Cemetery east of Collinsville.
