  Elvin Doyce Anderson 26 January 1937 - 11 May 2004 Josie Erliene Anderson 26 October 1943 - 29 November 2021    Grant was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend, who brought so much joy to us and others. A Desert Storm veteran, Grant honorably served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. After his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, Grant built his career in heating/air conditioning and home inspections. He closed his 18 year business and was employed with the city of McKinney as one of their city inspectors. Grant was a Mason of Empire Masonic Lodge # 586 and an Arch Mason of Haggai Chapter No. 53. He was an outdoorsman, a great story teller; and his greatest love was was SASS Cowboy Action Shooting known as Mr. Bittertrigger Finger. He was born on June 11, 1963, son of Elvin Doyce and Josie Earline Anderson in Garland, Texas. Grant passed away September 20, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Grant's surviving family is his mother; daughters, Diana Kirkland and husband, Josh, with first baby due December 2021; Angela Newkirk and husband, Koby, with their 5 children; and Cheyenne Anderson; sisters, Kari Tamburin and husband, Mark; and Kathy Earnhart Noble and husband, Dave; and many nephews and nieces. Graveside services were held Monday morning, September 27, 2021 at Elliott Cemetery. - - - Scoggins Funeral Home  Denison, Texas - After a fierce battle with Broken Heart Syndrome at Texoma Medical Center Josie Erliene Anderson passed through to her eternal life on Monday, November 29, 2021. Josie was born in Plains, Texas on October 26, 1943, daughter of Guy and Carrie Smith. She and her family relocated and became life residents of Denison, Texas. She married Elvin Doyce "Andy" Anderson on July 14, 1961. She was a beautician but found her life long career at Texas Instruments. Josie was a woman of faith throughout her life, particitating and serving in her community. Josie and Andy had 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Laura Weger; brother, Arvis Smith; and son, Grant Anderson. She is survived by her brother, Leland Smith; her 2 daughters, Kari and husband, Mark Tamburin; and Kathy Earnhart and husband, Dave Noble; grandchildren: Richard "Rock" Earnhart and wife, Diana; Constance and husband, Dr. Jason Bradley; Joey Tamburin and wife, Abby; Bear Tamburin; Diana and husband, Josh Kincaid; Angela and husband, Koby Newkirk; and Cheyenne Anderson; great-grandchildren; aunts; nieces and nephews; cousins; and many friends. Her greatest joy was her family. She also enjoyed fashion, cars, sports, camping at the lake, fishing, cooking, games, sewing and gel pen coloring.
