Jae was born Judy Lynn Johnson in San Antonio, Texas on January 4, 1954, daughter of Ernest and Lorraine Johnson, as an only child. When she was in Middle School they moved to Oakdale, Louisiana and she started planning to come back to Texas as soon as she could. She went to college at LSU and graduated with a Masters in Electromechanical Engineering. She was the first woman to graduate with a technical degree in Louisiana. As soon as she graduated, she came back to Texas like she said she would and started at TI right away. She worked there for over 20 years. In 2000 she became ill and contracted flesh-eating bacteria. Despite all the odds against it, she managed to beat it and we had another wonderful 20 years togerther, in all we had 30 years together. She had no living family left and was both happy and grateful to be a part of our family. She always enjoyed the time she got to spend with us. She married Nelson Hanning Lair on October 31, 1991. We picked that date so we would always remember to have fun in our marriage. She attended All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas since the day they opened the doors. She was very proud to have helped raise money to build a church. She sometimes laughed and said it was the church that TI built since so many of the initial members were from TI and supported them ever since when she couldn't attend. I will miss my angel with all my heart. Graveside services were held Monday morning, August 10, 2020 at the Elliott Cemetery in Van Alstyne, Texas. - - - Scoggins Funeral Home Elliott Cemetery Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson County TXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
