Monroe M. Walker 1911 - 1968 Lois E. Walker 1913 - 1994 Sherman Democrat April 14, 1994 A-14 Lois Estella Walker, 81-year-old homemaker of Sherman died Thursday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital. Services were held Saturday in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne. The Rev. Loyd Morris officiated and burial was in Elliott Cemetery. Mrs. Walker was born in Cooke County, the daughter of Robert Lee Layton and Minnie B. Baker Layton and married Monroe Walker on Oct. 14, 1933 n Sherman. She was a member of Valley Church of Christ in Gunter. Surviving are her daughters, Doris Edwards of Sarasota, Fla., and Juanita Walker of Sherman; sister, Maude Morris of Vernon; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Juanita L. Walker 1942 - 2019 Lillie Irene Walker 1939 - 1975 Juanita Loreen Walker, 76, passed away peacefully at Texoma Medical Center on April 11, 2019. She was a member of the Valley Church of Christ in Gunter and was a resident of Focused Care Nursing Home in Sherman. Juanita was born October 14, 1942. In spite of her challenges, Juantia always spoke with love and kindness and accepted her circumstances without complaint. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; her family; gospel songs, playing dominoes, checkers and Bingo; old TV shows, and almost all kinds of food. She is survived by sister, Doris Walker Edwards of Sarasota, Florida; 2 aunts and 1 uncle, Mildred Achimon of Howe, Texas; Monnie and Loyd Morris of Bowie, Texas; a nephews, Terry Chapman and wife, Gwen; a niece, Darla Horn and husband, Ron, all from Sarasota, Florida; and many cousins throughout Texas. She was predeceased by her father, Monroe Walker; her mother, Lois Layton Walker; and sister, Lillie Irene Walker. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. Burial followed at Elliott Cemetery outside of Van Alstyne.
