Annie J. Selby 9 January 1894 - 22 August 1974 Mrs.
Annie Joe Selby. 80, 107 East San Antonio, Van Alstyne died 3:00 a.m.
Thursday, Aug. 22, 1974 at Sherman Community Hospital. Services were
held at 3:00 p.m. August 24, 1974 at the Flesher Funeral Home Chapel,
conducted by Rv. Jerry Scott and assisted by Rev. J. L. Gregory.
Pallbearers were Weldon Webb, J. M. Hayes, R. J. Elliott, Jerry Salmon,
Mike Hynds and Bud Lane. Burial was in the Elliott Cemetery. Mrs. Selby, daughter of Edward B. and Virginia Elliott McNeely, was born in Grayson County. She was married October 24, 1924 to O. S. (Pete) Selby who preceded her in death March 29, 1969. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Van Alstyne. Mrs. Selby is survived by one son, Mac Selby and one granddaughter, Statia Selby. Oran Sim Selby 28 November 1891 - 29 March 1969 O. S. Selby, 78, retired rancher who died Saturday night in a Sherman Hospital. Burial will be in Elliott Cemetery. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the Methodist Church. He was married in 1924 at Dallas to Annie McNeely, who survives. Other survivors are a son , O. B. Selby of Van Alstyne; one grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. J. B. Maxey of Atoka, Mrs. Cora Medcalf and Mrs. Nell Scoggins, both of Sherman; and two brothers, Oris Selby of Van Alstyne and Roscoe Selby of Sherman.
