Thursday, August 4, 1938 pg. 1 MRS. FRAZIER TO BE BURIED THURSDAY P.M. Mrs. Melvina Frazier, who died in Bowie Tuesday afternoon, is to be buried Thursday afternoon at the Dripping Springs Cemetery. Services will be held at Dripping Springs Church at 2 o'clock with Rev. L.R. Lamb of Denison officiating with Rev. C. Chumbley of Howe, Texas, assisting. Mrs. Frazier was born in Scott County, Virginia, March 15, 1866 [sic] to Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Sloan. She was reared and educated in Virginia. August 11, 1881 in Purchase, Virginia, she was married. In 1904 she came to Texas. The family has resided in and around Denison for the past 23 years. At the time of her death, Mrs. Frazier was visiting a daughter in Bowie, Mrs. S.W. Thornton. She fell and broke her hip about ten days ago and never recovered from the injury. The body was brought overland to Denison Tuesday night. Surviving Mrs. Frazier are three sons, C.W. Frazier of Albuquerque, New Mexico; S.C. Frazier of Artesian, New Mexico, and Leo Frazier of Denison; seven daughters, Mrs. Thornton of Bowie, Mrs. Bertice Purray of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Mrs. G. Layne of Troups; Mrs. Flora Cole of Denison; Mrs. Edna Holley of Priest River, Idaho; Mrs. Ethel Stubbs of Denison; and Mrs. Willie Crouse of Denison; as well as forty-two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The pallbearers are Alfred Ragsdale, Rudolph Thornton, J.W. Stevens, Oliver Laine, Molvin Cole, and Virgil Cole.
