June 23, 1985 Whitesboro-- Funeral for Eugene Skaggs, 90, who died Friday in a Sherman hospital, will be at 2 p. m. Monday in Huff Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dixie Cemetery, north of Whitesboro. Born March 23, 1895, at Van Alstyne, to Fred and Sarah Weatherspoon Skaggs, Skaggs married Roxie Jackson Aug 17, 1919 in Cooke County. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife of Whitesboro; son, Carl of Whitesboro, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Denison Herald June 23, 1985 Whitesboro--Services for Eugene Skaggs of Route 3, Whitesboro, 90-year-old retired farmer who died Friday in Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, will be held at 2 p. m. Monday in Huff Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joe Patterson of Central Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will be in Dixie Cemetery. Mr. Skaggs was born in Van Alstyne, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Skaggs, and married Roxie Jackson Aug. 17, 1919, in Cooke County. He was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife; son, Carl Skaggs of Whitesboro; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
