C. E. "Jimmy" McFarland 9 September 1918 - 8 March 1922 WHITESBORO
– Funeral services for Dollie McFarland, 91, will be held Saturday,
June 15, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in
Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will
follow the services at Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas. Visitation
services will be held Friday, June 14, 2013, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at
the funeral home.
She passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013, with her family at her bedside, at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ in Sherman, Texas. Dollie was born on March 14, 1922 to Casual Mac and Osie Mae (Baker) Stofle in Whitesboro, Texas. She married Jimmy (C. E.) McFarland in June 1940. They were married until his passing in March 1992. She retired from Lone Star Gas after 29 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, as well as a member of the Eastern Star. She was a world traveler and had traveled extensively. She has gone to be with the Lord and the two loves of her life, Jimmy and Joe. She will be well remembered from her time on this earth, by many, for her peanut brittle and her pecan pies. She is survived by several nieces and nephews: Billy Wade Stofle, Jean Sustic, Judy Ingram, Donnie Stofle, Bob Culberson and Joe Culberson as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy (C. E.) McFarland; son Joe Loyd McFarland; two brothers: Claude Stofle and Wade Stofle; and one sister, Ina Mae Culberson.
