McCrary Sr. 31 May 1925 - 16 November 2000 Joyce McCrary 21 September 1935 - 15 July 2011 Johnny McCrary passed away Thursday at Community Medical Center, Sherman, Texas Chapel services will be held at 2p.m. Monday, Nov. 20 in Huff Funeral Chapel in Whitesboro Tx. Officiatimng will be Rusty Waller and Gerald Dudley Burial will be in Dexie Cemetery. John was the son of Charles and Pearl McCrary. He married Joyce Dudley on June 2 1956, in Sherman, Texas He worked in the oil fields and for ConAgra Mills in Sherman, Tx. He was a member of the Gordonville First Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Bob Ethridge, Tony Dudley, Steve Conner, Ed Lewis, Larry Moore and Kenneth Kemp. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Mccrary of Whitesboro: two sons, John Fields of San Angelo and John McCrary of Gainesville, Tx. Stepson, Weldon Thomas of Gainesville; daughter,Carolyn Hopper of Whitesboro, Tx.; brother, Fred McCrary of Alexander City, Alabama; sister Imogene Forehand of Sherman; eight granddhildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Brasher, Vertis, Milton, M.P. and Otis McCrary; one sister, Ila Campbell; and his parents, Charles and Pearl McCrary. Herald Democrat
July 20, 2011 SHERMAN - Funeral services for Elizabeth Joyce McCrary, 75, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Thomas Hoover officiating with Rev. Jim Whitaker assisting. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro. Elizabeth passed away on July 15, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Elizabeth was born on September 21, 1935 to Vera Moore in the Dexter Community. She married John McCrary Sr., on June 2, 1956 in Grayson County, Texas. Elizabeth worked in the lab at Medical Plaza Hospital for 25 years in Sherman, Texas. She was a member of Gordonville Baptist Church. Survivors include: a son, John McCrary, Jr.; a daughter, Carolyn Hopper; mother, Vera Moore all of Sherman, Texas; 3 brothers, Tom Moore of Charlottesville, Va., Jim Moore of Lake Kiowa, Texas and Larry Moore of Howe, Texas; a sister, Barbara Kemp of Van Alstyne , Texas; grandchildren; Weldon Thomison, Jr., Jason Thomison, Robert Hopper, Jr., Elizabeth Hopper, John McCrary III and Betty Fine; seven great-grandchildren.
