May 1, 2014 SHERMAN - Ruby May Dudley, age 82, went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas. Ruby May Rains was born August 17, 1931 in Nocona, Texas; the daughter of Coker and Rosie (Hambright) Rains. She marred the love of her life, Delbert Dudley Sr. on May 5, 1950. Mrs. Dudley worked for the S & S consolidated school district as a cook in the cafeteria for many years. After retiring from the school district she worked at the Dudley Feed Store where she enjoyed conversation with the regulars and she was never afraid to help you load your feed. Mrs. Dudley was a member of Southmayd Baptist Church for many years where she served the Lord. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Dudley leaves behind her loving family, two sons, Gerald Dudley and wife, Barbara, Tony Dudley and wife, Jody, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and sister, Martha Sanderson and husband, Donald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Dudley Sr., son, Delbert Dudley Jr., parents, five sisters and one brother. Funeral services for Mrs. Dudley will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2 at Southmayd Baptist Church with Larry Blain officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro. Family visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1 at Southmayd Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Tommy Hall, Tony Phillips, Jimmy Klas, Heath DeGroot, Mark Adair and Darrell Cason. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doyle Stanford, Sam Moran, Charles Graham and Doug Roland. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison. Delbert B.
