Sunday, October 17, 1897 pg. 4 LOCAL CONDENSATIONS Thursday, October 14, '97 - Chas. Cook, formerly an employe of the bridge and building department of the Katy, committed suicide Wednesday night by taking a large dose of prussic acid. Domestic trouble is assigned as the reason for self-destruction. Cook was out of work and drinking. He was 42 years of age, and leaves a wife, but no children.
