Thursday, December 18, 1930 pg. 1 GOVERNMENT TRAPPER SLAIN: MAN IS CHARGED Sherman, Texas, December 12 - R.L. Anderson, 49, Government trapper, was shot and killed near Preston Bend Friday. Allen Bailey, 25, who had been working with Anderson, was placed in the Grayson County jail on a charge of murder. Anderson was found lying in a pool of blood in a bedroom of a small house about 2 miles west of the Preston Bend store. Two bullets had gone through his head. MAN SHOT TO DEATH AT PRESTON BEND Sherman, December 13 - R.L. Anderson, 49, was shot to death near Preston Bend late yesterday and A.D. Bailey, 25, made a statement to Deputy Sheriff John Roberts at Denison with reference to the shooting. Anderson and Bailey had lived in the same community since November 1. Anderson, government trapper and employer of Bailey, at Preston Bend Dec. 12, 1930, was acquitted in District Court at Sherman Friday. Testimony indicated that Anderson had conducted himself in an improper manner toward Bailey's wife.
