Our precious Mary Eileen Henley, 92, slipped peacefully warm in her bed into the arms of Jesus on Christmas morning, Sunday , December 25, 2022 - a little before 8 a.m. surrounded by  family at her home in Denison.
Mary was born August 17, 1930 in Denison, Texas, daughter of William and Eula Anderson.  She graduated from Denison High School.
Mary worked for Levi Strauss Co. on E. Main street in Denison.  Barrett's Drug  on Main street and then went on to start a successful 40-year career in  the newspaper industry, working for The Herald Democrat, Dallas Morning News and the Texoma Republican newspaper until her retirement.  After retirement  she enjoyed reading the newspaper and books, playing cards, working puzzles, watching The Price is Right, The Young and the Restless, and her westerns.  Mary had an amazing sense of humor, and she was very active and lived a full life up until the end.  We were shooting for "100"; the credit to her longevity goes to her son, William Henley, who was with her every day until his passing in 2012.  Although her passing leaves a  giant void in all our lives, she will live on forever in our hearts every day.
Mary leaves behind her beloved niece, Brenda Jones; and great-nephew, Robert Heck, both of Denison, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Anderson; sons, William Henley and Phillip Henley; parents, William and Eula Anderson; stepfather, Aaron Aldridge; brother, W.F. Anderson; sisters, Francis Ray and Ollie Foreman.
Mary was cremated according to her wishes and was placed next to her  son and other family on the mantle.
Mary was a  breast cancer survivor, to honor Mary's fight on breast cancer, memorials may be made in her name to The National Breast Cancer organization
or to honor her newspaper career, to The Texoma Republican newspaper.
