July 29, 2011 Sandra Whiting, 67, of Sherman passed away on July 26, 2011 in Sherman, Texas. Sandra was born on September 10, 1943 in Sherman to Joe and Joyce Mullens Waggoner. She married George G. Whiting III on February 2, 1980 in Sherman. Sandra was a high school graduate worked for the Sherman ISD and retired in 1993. She was a cook and baker by profession. She was of the Christian faith and member of Parkview Church of Christ, Sherman. Mrs. Whiting is survived by her husband, George Whiting of Sherman; and children, Dawn Ready and husband Jeff of Lola, Kansas; Kelley Keeton and husband Terry of Anna, Texas; and Amanda Whiting, Sherman, Texas. She is also survived by her mother, Joyce Waggoner of Burleson. She is also survived by sisters, Sherry Christian, Burleson; Barbara Benningfield, Paradise; Connie DePalma, Oceanview, Delaware; Cheryl Brooks, Franklin, Tennessee; and brothers, Joseph Diprimio of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and John DiPrimio, Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania. Her grandchildren are Krista, Kyle-Jo, Justin, Jaret and Kassandra Keeton, William Benfer, Jeffrey Benfer, Natasha Wiseman, Savannah Poutch, Kelsey Kinsley, Gabrelle Kinsley as well as three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Waggoner; and one sister; and her grandparents. Sandra was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family wishes to express special appreciation and gratitude to Heart to Heart Hospice Care, especially Cherie Wall Jackson, chaplain, and Jeanie Douglas, R.N. for their tender and loving care of Sandra during her battle with breast cancer. Sandra was cremated, by her wishes, and a memorial service in her honor, was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at American Funeral Services Chapel, 4312 W. Crawford St. Denison. Services will be officiated by Chaplain Cherie Wall Jackson. Sandra's last request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Research Hospital.
