Columbus
Junior Weeks of Bonham, Texas passed away peacefully at Beacon Hill
Rehabilitation Center in Denison, Texas on December 20, 2020.
Junior was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma on September 15, 1937 to
Columbus W. and Zola Mae Yarbrough Weeks, the first of 6
children. In 1945 Junior and his family moved to Gober,
Texas. As a young boy, Junior helped with the daily farm
chores. He grew into a hard working man. He became
interested in working with large equipment - dozers, tractors, and any
type of machinery. He enjoyed working outside. Junior, in
his spare time, would tinker with radios. His workshop was full
of old radios. He was not a man to spend money on fancy things;
he loved the simple life, loved his family, and loved to tell stories
about the old days. Most of all Junior enjoyed his ice cream and
sweets. Junior had a love for music that he inherited from his
mother. He played the guitar, banjo and harmonica. He
cherished his collection of harmonicas. In his last remaining
years spent at Beacon Hill, he would entertain the staff with his
harmonica.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James L. Weeks; his long time companion, Wanda J. Gardner; his step-grandson, Roger Lee Terry; Those left to cherish his memory and stories are brothers, Albert Weeks; Charles Weeks and wife, Janet; sisters, Sue Howard; Bonita Taylor; step-children, Roger W. Terry; and Rhonda L.
